Weekend Two at Coachella was a movie

If one thing’s for sure: weekend two at Coachella was a movie.

For Justin Bieber’s return for the second weekend of Coachella, he leaned into collaboration, nostalgia, and surprise. He turned his set into one of the festival’s defining moments by welcoming a slew of collaborators on stage. SZA joined JB on stage for a live rendition of their “Snooze” remix, while appearances from Big Sean, Sexyy Red, and Dijon kept the momentum shifting between eras and styles.

The most talked-about moment came when Billie Eilish joined him on stage during “One Less Lonely Girl.” A longtime fan of Bieber, Eilish was clearly emotional as he serenaded her, recreating one of his early-career traditions.

Earlier in the day, Addison Rae took to the mainstage and surprised us all by bringing out Olivia Rodrigo. The pair performed Rae’s “Headphones On” before debuting Rodrigo’s new single “Drop Dead” live for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter delivered one of the weekend’s most unexpected pairings during her Friday night headlining set, inviting Madonna on stage. Together, they performed “Like a Prayer,” bridging generations of pop and turning a classic hit into one of the weekend’s biggest crowd reactions.

Rather than standalone performances, artists built sets around collaboration, using surprise sets to create viral moments in real time. While Justin Bieber may have anchored the conversation, Coachella’s second weekend ultimately belonged to the crossovers.

From legacy icons to rising pop stars, the constant interplay among artists gave the festival a sense of unpredictability. In short, it reinforced why Weekend Two often delivers some of the festival’s most memorable moments.
