Since Jonathan Anderson’s debut Dior presentation in 2025, the world has kept an eagle eye on what the designer would do next, especially after transforming Loewe into one of the most influential brands in the world during his tenure there.
But from working in a department store in Dublin during the earliest phases of his career to now, as the busiest man in the most coveted role in fashion, Anderson’s latest presentation in Paris was as good as we have come to expect.
From the very first look, there was an element of confidence coursing through the entire line. It wasn’t “look at me” confidence; it was just the kind of confidence that comes from knowing exactly who you are. The clothes felt refined, thoughtful, and incredibly wearable. And of course, with Anderson opting once again for cleaner tailoring and elegant proportions, it resulted in a collection of garments that could easily live in everyday wardrobes, but in the best way.
There were still traces of the designer’s signature touch throughout the collection. Long-time followers of his work will recognise the subtle playfulness in styling and proportions, but it never felt like Anderson was trying to turn Dior into another version of Loewe. Instead, he appeared focused on finding a common ground between his own design instincts and Dior’s rich history.
That’s what made the collection so successful. Anderson hasn’t forced his identity onto Dior; instead, he’s created a collection that felt respectful without trying too hard to be relevant or snatch headlines.
The styling was, of course, sensational, too. Shirts, tailoring and outerwear were presented with distressed details, while checkered patterns were complemented by sparkling gold details in the form of shorts and trousers that take us back to ‘80s dancefloors. The combinations of colours also made sense. While on the surface, they may have seemed random, it felt right, considered, playful.
By the time the final look left the runway, the biggest takeaway was that Dior is now evolving into something new. Of course, it’s main principles remain synonymous with the steeped heritage of Dior, but since Anderson’s introduction to the brand, it’s clear Dior is looking into the future, creating new chapters that will undoubtedly go down in fashion folklore.
