Levi’s and BEAMS are putting a fresh spin on one of denim’s most recognisable silhouettes, joining forces on a new limited-edition take on the 501.
The collaboration takes its starting point from Levi’s 501® RELAXED, adapting the familiar straight-leg profile with proportions designed specifically for BEAMS. The result is a roomier interpretation that keeps the character of the original 501 while introducing a more contemporary fit through the hip and leg.
Made from heavyweight 14.7oz denim, the jeans retain a number of the details that have made the 501 a staple for generations. A button fly, traditional straight-leg construction and selvedge denim all feature, with the collaboration arriving in two distinct finishes: “CATHEDRAL SELVEDGE” and “THE WALLS SELVEDGE.”
Fit has been a key focus of the project, with BEAMS offering the jeans in two inseam options measuring 28 and 30 inches. The waist range runs from 28 through to 42 inches, giving the release a broad sizing offering while allowing wearers to choose how the denim falls.
The weight of the selvedge fabric also means the jeans are designed to develop character over time. With regular wear, the denim will naturally fade and soften, giving each pair a more individual appearance as it ages.
By combining Levi’s heritage with BEAMS’ contemporary approach to proportion and styling, the 501 Limited Edition offers a subtle update to one of the brand’s most enduring designs, keeping the construction familiar while changing the way the silhouette sits on the body.
