Pinning the Culted friends and family down to one place at the same time is a pretty tough gig. But if there was one place where you’re bound to make it happen, it was Milan Fashion Week. On Sunday, we teamed up with Ellesse to grab a sneak peek at the brand-new LSR sneakers, which mould the brand’s sporting history into its court-inspired trainer.
To celebrate this new direction, we threw a sneaky soiree hosted by Culted Founder and Editor-in-Chief Pavel Dler, and campaign star Kit Price, nestled away from the Milan Fashion Week madness. Set in a secluded cobbled courtyard, our friends and fam, included Olaf Hernandez, LOEWE tomato meme mastermind and Lyst Social Media Editor Connor Downey, and model James Edward, as well as a select few industry insiders.
As guests entered the space, they were greeted with champagne—toasting the fashion week wins and woes before dinner. The conversations continued as we took our seats, with the beaming Milano sunshine fading and allowing the tailor-made dining space to come into its own. Dimly lit mood lighting kept things elevated yet relaxed while serving as an aesthetic tool to reflect ellesse’s new direction, where its athletic past is an elevated fashion-forward design.
When it came to the food, guests were served a four-course menu, where a tailored meat and vegan menu kept us going in true Italian style (and the wine pairings were pretty good, too). In between main courses ellesse Global Brand Director, Jack Richardson toasted the brand’s history, which will celebrate its 65th anniversary this year. In that time, it has found its way into some pretty well-known wardrobes, including The Princess Of Monaco, Mick Jagger, and Lady Dianna.
The ellesse LSR sneaker fuses the aesthetic properties of a tennis sneaker with high-quality materials such as suede, leather, and bio-based leather. It was first previewed at Pitti Uomo in January 2024, picking up interest from buyers and content platforms, before heading to Milan. It is set for a general release in September this year.
