Dad of the year goes to… A$AP Rocky for Bottega Veneta

Sorry but you’ve gotta throw out that “Dad of the Year” mug you bought your dad for Father’s Day: A$AP Rocky’s officially taken the title. In case you forgot that it’s Fathers Day today, Bottega Veneta’s here to remind us with maybe the brand’s best A$AP Rocky campaign yet, “PORTRAITS OF FATHERHOOD” starring the rapper along with his and Rihanna’s two kids, RZA and Riot Rose.

Ever since A$AP starred in Bottega Veneta’s paparazzi-inspired campaign last December, he’s become an unofficial face of the brand. Now it seems Flacko’s latest Bottega collab, dropped on Father’s Day, has got his kids, 2 year old RZA and and 10 month old Riot Rose, in on the action too.

Shot by Carrie Mae Weems the “PORTRAITS OF FATHERHOOD” campaign pictures fashion’s favourite dad with his kids, 2 year old RZA and and 10 month old Riot in matching “best dad” baby onesies, and is accompanied by a 1 minute movie. On top of this, a billboard is going up in Piccadilly Circus, London featuring the campaign tomorrow: Bottega’s basically spared no expense on this campaign.

The new era of celebrities’ kids running the show is starting, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they each take on a life of inherited fame. Whilst, for North West, broadway’s apparently become her M.O., A$AP and Rihanna’s kids RZA and Riot are being called into the world of high fashion campaigns. Who knows though, maybe we’ll get RZA’s debut album before Riri drops her next one.

In the first ever campaign released by Bottega Veneta to feature kids, we’re holding our breaths for a kidswear line to follow it. Whilst its pretty unlikely (or about as likely as a Rihanna album dropping soon), the full Riri-Rocky clan decked out in Bottega Veneta would be iconic.

As A$AP himself said of the campaign: “When you think about A$AP Rocky, you think about a playboy, pretty boy, bras being thrown on stage. This is about me as a one-woman man, as a family man. It is about what completes my life now: being present as a partner and a parent.” Bottega’s “PORTRAITS OF FATHERHOOD” shoot marks a new era for the rapper.
