Whether you like it or not, we all have to admit that Louis Vuitton knows how to put on a proper show, and FW25 was no different. This time, though, Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière was shouting out all the fashion girls in Paris.
The set design, as always, was absolutely insane. It felt like a courtyard to a Parisian apartment with light tiles on the floor that provided quite the spectacle at the beginning and end of the show as they flashed on and off to the music for a crazy build-up.
This season had all the signature Parisian styles, with an effortless, boho-chic look here and an aprés-ski, afterparty look there. Bohemian patterns were sprinkled throughout the collection with a preference for relaxed shapes and nonchalant styling that looked like it was taken from the streets. Everything looked like something you’d see from the It-girls passing by as you people-watch on your outside seat at Café Procope in Le Marais and a showing that just felt so wearable yet special.
Accessories were another highlight with the new bag styles like that light-up lantern bag, the Damier holsters, and that LV monogrammed violin case. There was even a blanket with a leather pouch built in. The classic Louis Vuitton styles were also given a remix like the Alma BB and Speedy. Don’t sleep on the headwear, either, because that oversized bucket hat with the folder-over brim that’s giving sailor vibes might take over at the end of this year.
We also caught a glimpse of what Pat McGrath might be cooking for LV Beauty with some models rocking a pale, theatrical look that featured a white base with splashes of vibrant tones.
The show ended with all the models walking up to the balcony and looking over the audience for their version of the final walkout. Paris’ fashion scene wouldn’t be where it is without the refined personal style of its very own women and Nicolas Ghesquière knows that better than anyone. With that said, those women might run the streets but Ghesquière’s LV girls will rule the world.
