London sneaker brand notwoways is updating its Model 1 with a caffeinated colour makeover. The popular style has been dressed in a seasonal dark brown and cream hue, aptly named “MOKKA.”
The inspiration for the brand’s latest colourway comes from a happy accident, where a spillage sparked an idea for a new sneaker colourway. Founders Callum McGinley and Rockwell “Rocky” Princely were driving through London, talking about upcoming colourways and styles before a sudden near miss meant Callum had to slam on the brakes. The emergency stop caused a cup of mocha to fall into the footwell and stain his pair of Model 1s, leading Rocky to envision the brand’s next colourway.
The sneaker makes use of nylon mesh crafted from recycled fishing nets, and works with a recycled nylon midsole injected with recycled plastic bottle cap pieces. Chunky rope laces are in keeping with the Model 1, which uses textured suede and leather to provide contrast. While the colour scheme remains muted, a chunky silhouette provides a subtle statement and styling versatility.
notwoways is an East London sneaker brand, known for fusing technical designs with a fashionable sensibility at an attainable price point. The notwoways Model 1 “MOKKA” sneaker will be released on 23 November via the notwoways webstore.
