Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO's new Fall/Winter 2026 collection is one of the best things I've seen in a minute. Titled "ETERNAL NOW," it expands on the surreal narrative that first debuted on the Paris Fashion Week runway earlier this year.
At the heart of the collection is a deeply personal story imagined by designer Mihara Yasuhiro. It follows a train passenger who drifts off to sleep, wakes to find they've travelled beyond their destination, and watches the outside world dissolve into an indistinct blur through the carriage window. That feeling of uncertainty, where reality softens and familiar surroundings lose their definition, becomes the foundation for the season's designs.
"ETERNAL NOW" also leans into the beauty of imperfection. Silhouettes appear intentionally unsettled, with garments cut to feel slightly skewed or subtly out of alignment. It's a collection that celebrates movement, memory and the idea that clothing doesn't always need to feel perfectly resolved.
The colour palette reinforces that mood. Muted lilacs, washed-out pinks and faded blues sit alongside deep navy, charcoal and black, creating a wardrobe that feels as though it has already lived a life. Every look is nostalgic, with fabrics and finishes giving the impression of favourite pieces that have been worn, weathered and collected over time.
Across outerwear, tailoring, knitwear and footwear, familiar shapes are reinterpreted through Mihara's lens. Coats arrive with uneven proportions and layered construction, knitwear appears stretched and warped, while tailored pieces are interrupted by unexpected details that break away from traditional form. The label's footwear continues to explore deconstruction, with oversized sneakers and boots pushing familiar silhouettes into more sculptural territory.
Some of the collection's strongest moments come through oversized outerwear with irregular hems, knitwear that looks as though it's folding into itself and the exaggerated sole units that have become synonymous with Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO. Together, they reinforce the collection's central idea that clothing can capture fleeting moments and imperfect memories just as effectively as it can serve a functional purpose.
