Here’s what went down at the CULTED x Guinness pub takeover

We like to think that nobody is doing it like the CULTED x Guinness community.

As a publication that spends every day documenting culture online, we made Wednesday IRL.

On Wednesday, the CULTED community gathered inside a pub takeover in partnership with Guinness. We had creatives, tastemakers, music lovers, fashion enthusiasts and sports fans fill the room, creating a safe space for new friendships to be made.

Across the room, conversations bounced between music, emerging brands, sporting moments, and everything in between. Familiar faces linked up with first-time guests, while introductions quickly turned into friendships.  We like to think that nobody is doing it like the CULTED x Guinness community, and those on the stacked guestlist will agree.

Of course, the setting played a huge part. For generations, the pub has acted as one of Britain's most important cultural meeting points. Long before social media offered a place to connect, pubs were already serving that purpose. They’re where stories are told, opinions are shared, and communities are built. Whether you’re there for the music on the jukebox, the company around the table, or the sport on the screens, the pub has always offered something for everyone.

And as we run through a huge summer of football, the pub seemed like one of the best  places for us to take our community. It’s a fact: football has never been confined to the pitch; it’s found in conversations before kick-off, debates after full-time and the rituals that surround the game itself.

And throughout all of this, one thing remains a constant: “Fancy a pint, mate?” Guinness was the drink of choice, and the familiar sight of black-and-white pints at the bar. Our community was tied together through good vibes, and eclectic energy. Good ‘ol pints of the good stuff were being served and memories were created  that will indeed, last forever.

As the night unfolded, that sense of togetherness became increasingly clear. The pub created a space for people with shared interests to meet, connect, and celebrate the things they live for. Some arrived through fashion, others through music or football, but everyone left having experienced something that sat comfortably between all three.

For one evening, CULTED’s online audience became a real-world community. And as the community tied together, it served as a reminder that some of culture’s most meaningful moments still happen the old-fashioned way: in the pub, surrounded by good people, sharing stories over a favourite drink.
