Recently, there has been a lot of talk that streetwear is on its way out. I mean the king of streetwear himself, Virgil Abloh literally said: “it’s going to die”.

In a recent report, PwC and Hypebeast estimated that streetwear makes up about 10% of the global clothing and footwear market.

So, what’s next?

Designer and fashion writer Thakoon Panichgul said “tailoring is the new streetwear”. This definitely seems to be the direction Louis Vuitton is taking. Their fall/winter 20 men’s collection swapped oversized graphic prints and puffer jackets for more sleek tailored fits.

In an interview with the BOF, Highsnobiety Editor Christopher Morency said luxury brands have “always been informed by the way youth culture has dressed”. If they “dress more [formally] tomorrow … this should still be considered as streetwear”

But what about vintage clothing?

With more people buying vintage and second-hand products, will this be another contender to replace the current streetwear trend?

What do you think? Let us know below.
