What to expect at London Fashion Week FW25

London Fashion Week FW25 kicks off tonight, with British-American designer Harris Reed’s showcase at The Tate Modern and the Central Saint Martins graduate showcase. The five-day-long event will take over the city until Monday, when Burberry will close the show with a FROW full of real ones. This season will be the last under the helm of the British Fashion Council’s longstanding CEO Caroline Rush (who will be replaced by former British Vogue editor Laura Weir) who will undoubtedly be determined to go out with a bang.

Dilara Findikoglu will return to the calendar

After a season off the calendar, British designer Dilara Findikoglu will make her return. Last season’s collection, Femme Vortex, was a call for the end of toxic masculinity. Given the return of Trump and the rise of a whole host of misogynistic manosphere influencers over the past year, this season will be no different.

NEWGEN will spotlight a host of emerging designers

On the final day of London Fashion Week, Newgen—a British Fashion Council incubator scheme that champions emerging designers— will host a joint showroom featuring the likes of Ancuta Sarca, Johanna Parv, Di Petsa, Masha Papova, and Paolo Carzana.

LFW will adopt new sustainability requirements

The British Fashion Council is the first of the ‘big four’ fashion weeks (London, Milan, Paris, and New York) to set minimum sustainability standards for Newgen brands, which will include the requirement of an ESG strategy, diversity and inclusion policy for hiring, the use of preferred materials, and the banning of single-use props from fashion shows.

Kiko Kostadinov x Asics will host an event open to the public

On Saturday Asics and Kiko Kostadinov will host an event to mark the launch of the Asics Gel-Kiril 3. Unlike most Fashion Week events, which are industry-only, the event is open to the public via a raffle system, a win for the democratization of fashion. The night will also feature a performance by DJ Bill Kouligas (PAN) and composer Patrick Belaga.

The stars will align at Burberry

The hardest-to-secure ticket on the calendar only goes out to A-listers and industry GOATs, so expect to see the Burberry front row filled with A-listers like campaign stars Barry Keoghan, Iris Law, Jessie Buckley and Shygirl.
