Every year, a fresh batch of muses are thrown our way. Artists, designers, musicians, or just straight up social media icons – as we absorb information as eagerly as the TikTok algo, our insatiable thirst for new talent is always inevitably quenched.

The post-covid media landscape over the past two years has thrusted figures like self-declared ‘most famous Estonian in the world’ Tommy Cash (dissected this year by CULTED), quintessentially Gen Z influencer Mia Regan aka @mimimoocher and 2021 Model of the Year Steinberg to the forefront of cultural relevance. The days of polished content creators, fast fashion giants and squeaky clean pop princesses ruling the roost is over. A new era of muses has dawned – and we can take a good guess as to who’s going to be leading the rebellion come the New Year. ✨ Vive la révolution ✨

Keep reading to dive into our predictions for the four future trailblazers of 2023.

CHET LO

Chet Lo has had a whirlwind of a year. When the 25-year-old knitwear wunderkind wasn’t spending time quietly securing his spot on the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 arts and culture list, he was creating texture-defying runway collections in his signature spiky style.

The Central Saint Martins alumni boasts a roster of names among his client list; from custom pieces for Kylie Jenner to bespoke pink ensembles for Doja Cat and SZA for their hit ‘Kiss Me More’ music video. Head to Lo’s Instagram and you’ll find a rainbow of peaked bunny plushies, puffed platform booties and pastel-ised pieces – a perfect representation of the budding designer’s flair for texture.

OUR 2023 PREDICTION: A killer collaboration with a big-time brand.

JENNA ORTEGA

Jenna Ortega has only just turned 20, but her 2022 was filled with no less than FOUR major movie leads. This doesn’t even include the show that has recently catapulted her into stardom: Netflix’s chart-topping Addams Family spin-off show, ‘Wednesday’

But this isn’t Ortega’s first rodeo. The young actress grew up starring in swathes of hit-shows including ‘Jane the Virgin’ and ‘You’, so, fame? Yeah, it doesn’t phase her. With TikTok users pushing out a frenzy of ‘Wednesday’ inspired dances to Lady Gaga’s “Bloody Mary” (with over 2.6 million posts under one sound alone), this is just the beginning for Jenna Ortega.

OUR 2023 PREDICTION: Global superstardom and award-winning feature films.

CENTRAL CEE

Central Cee may already be one of the biggest UK artists to emerge over the past couple of years – this, we know. Now however, the young rapper is beginning to generate international buzz. Will 2023 be his year to break into the US? Though he has already achieved household-name success with his hit-single ‘Doja’ and sent flutters through the TikTok community with now-confirmed relationship with short-format darling Madeline Argy, the 24 year old is in a prime position to take the rest of the world by storm.

It isn’t just music that will push the artist to dizzying heights of popularity outside of the UK.  Having amassed over 5.7 million Instagram followers, his fans also swoon over his influencer-esque fit-pics, which include an eye for aesthetics and some hardcore colour co-ordination. For this rising star, music has been the key to creating the Central Cee brand and pushing the boundaries of what a UK rapper can really achieve. In 2023, we can see Central Cee breaking the fourth wall of music – the US rap scene. Watch this space…

OUR 2023 PREDICTION: US domination and a street style clothing line. Trending soon: #centralceecore.

HARRI

Picture this: it’s 2020, and the world has not yet been plunged into the darkness of global lockdown. The London College of Fashion graduate collection is in full swing and the British Fashion Council are scouring the runway for promising new fashion faces. Enter,  Harri.

Hailing from a tiny village in South Kerala, the young designer stunned the fashion world with his air-bending inflatable trousers which would go on to hurtle Harri into tangible new territory. Now, having debuted his first post-grad collection at London Fashion Week SS/23 and with a gravity-defying collaboration with latex brand Supatex under his belt, the boundary-pushing, balloon-pant-making sensation is ready to take 2023 by the (inflatable) horns.

OUR 2023 PREDICTION: An art-meets-fashion show to follow the brand’s sculpturally groundbreaking performances.
