Off-White FW25 had some intergalactic cowboys and girls

What do you get when you send some fashion mf stormtroopers to space in some cowboy boots? You get Ib Kamara’s Off-White FW25 that takes a step away from his grunge-infused Y2K feel from his SS25 collection.

The set looks like the inside of a spaceship with a layered dome covering the initial space before models walk through what looks like a maze, passing by endless rows of seated guests.

Space was definitely on the moodboard, with an abundance of skin-tight, panelled tops and bottoms that resemble something that you’d see characters from Evangelion wearing with its high neck collar and central zipper that hugs the body further. Along with the striped trims and the athleisure fabrications, it looked ready for some intergalactic battle in suitable Samus Aran attire. Juxtapose that with several western-style boots, it’s Cowboy Bebop on the runway fr.

The brand’s streetwear DNA was honoured too with distressed jeans that revealed tonal panels peaking through from underneath and 3D markings making up the Off-White arrows logo. It was jazzed up with some stud embellishments, giving that little bit of punkish bling on the faded denim wash. Signature varsity jackets are also refreshed with hefty padding on the shoulders, giving a hunched silhouette with the squared-off, exaggerated shoulders.

Closing the show with a confident walk from Burna Boy in an all-black, leather fit with the eagle logo and the berets from previous looks, it seems like it's a subtle nod to Nigerian Police uniforms - a reference to the singer’s heritage.

Kamara constantly proves to us that he was the right man to honour Virgil Abloh’s legacy, keeping to Off-White’s streetwear roots whilst still adding a fresh take and perspective that keeps us all coming back for more. And when you’ve got a legend like Isamaya French and all the celebrity backing that he has, how can you lose?
