PUMA has just signed a long-term partnership with Real Madrid and France national football team player Raphaël Varane.

Having been nominated for the Best Young Player award in 2014, Raphaël Varane has already amassed quite an impressive resume in football (despite only being 27 years old). The Real Madrid defender also won a world cup with France in 2018 and has won the UEFA Champions League four times. So, it’s no surprise that Varane will now be seen wearing the PUMA ULTRA silo, PUMA’s lightweight speed boot.

In a statement Johan Adamsson, the Global Director of Sports Marketing and Sports Licensing at PUMA, said “Raphaël Varane is a fantastic signing for us”. He went on to say, “He has achieved so much in the game at just 27 years old. He is technically gifted, in combination with great speed and strength and is considered one of the best defenders in the game today.”

The footballer is just as excited about this new partnership as he said, “I am delighted to join the PUMA family at this stage of my career and during a very exciting time for the brand”. He continued, “PUMA felt like a natural fit for me and I am thrilled to join the home to some of the greatest players in football history”. He also stated his appreciation for PUMA’s outlook on sustainability, hinting at a possible partnership beyond football.

This partnership could be the beginning of many work opportunities and collaborations between PUMA and Varane, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
