
With Rihanna’s halftime Super Bowl show stealing all the headline spots (rightfully so), you may have missed some exciting stuff happening in fashion these past few days, including the introduction of Matthew M. BOILER ROOM X P.A.M. LAUNCHES TODAY
Both sharing a love for club culture, Boiler Room and P.A.M. have teamed up for an exclusive collaboration. Graphics were a key component of the collection, including on tees, as well as focusing on festival essentials such as socks, a water bottle, bag and towel. The collection is now available for purchase on Boiler Room and P.A.M’s websites as well as LN-CC.

UNBOXING VALENTINO
Shot by renowned fashion photographer Steven Miesel, Valentino’s latest campaign explores the idea of community based upon individuality. Sharp tailoring, genderless clothing and couture gowns were all present in a special unboxing of identities.

NYFW IS IN FULL SWING
It has been a whirlwind of a weekend in New York after kick starting the official FW23 Fashion Week. We saw Dion Lee turn to Y2k-meets-BDSM-meets-elevated fashion for his show, Chloë Sevigny opened up for Proenza Schouler in a chic collection, Rodarte went full-on “Wednesday” mode and Collina Strada took cues from Schiaparelli’s latest couture show, taking animal inspirations to the next level. Oh, and there’s still a few days to go.

GIVENCHY GOES AVANT-GARDE FOR ITS NEW RAINBOOTS
Matthew M. Williams has uncovered new rainboots for Givenchy in his “Show” line, another effort to merge futurism with the French luxury house. The rubber rainboots come in two different colourways, black and off-white, and are available in a high and ankle-cut model.

KENZO GOES CALIFORNIA SWIMMING FOR SS23 CAMPAIGN
In a summer campaign that features skateboarder and artist Lil Dre, KENZO turns to the California beaches to highlight Nigo’s latest pieces. The nautical theme was apparent not only through the location of the shoot, but also with the clothing present including the sailor jacket and the marin-collared varsity jacket.

E.L.F ENLISTS JENNIFER COOLIDGE IN NEW BEAUTY CAMPAIGN
Securing an advert during the prime time Super Bowl commercial break, beauty brand e.l.f. Cosmetics has enlisted The White Lotus creator Mike White to write the 30 second ad, as well as the star of the show Jennifer Coolidge to star in it. Coolidge is seen struggling to get ready with e.l.f. products in her effortlessly hilarious manner.

BRIT AWARDS’ BEST DRESSED
The Brit Awards 2023 was full of memorable moments, including the special star’s red carpet look. There was Harry Styles who showed up in a Nina Ricci suit with a decorative flower necktie, who won the 4 awards he was nominated for, including Best Artist and Best Song. We also saw Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg in Vivienne Westwood, Jessie J showed off her baby bump with a red lace number, and then there was Sam Smith’s viral black latex jumpsuit designed by LCF graduate Harri.

MACY’S FEATURES “FASHION IN COLOUR”
In line with Black History Month, the high-end department store has featured founder of Harlem’s Fashion Row Brandice Daniel’s new book “Fashion in Colour (Volume 1)” in its windows, an A to Z guide on Black fashion designers from Balmain’s Olivier Rousteing to Kerby Jean-Raymond, as well as acknowledging style icons Dapper Dan and Misa Hylton.

THERE’S A $5 MILLION DISPUTE GOING ON OVER A VAN GOGH
In a case that is now going to federal court, the 1888 “Une Liseuse de Romans” painting by Vincent Van Gogh is being fought over ownership. The painting currently resides with the Detroit Institute of Arts for its exhibition “Van Gogh in America”, showcasing 74 pieces by the artist which have been rightfully loaned by curators, owners and museums. The Brokerate Capital Partners LLC are now claiming it had bought the painting in 2017 for $3.7 million and gave its temporary possession to a third party.

DIOR MEN’S SUMMER 2023 CAMPAIGN IS ALL ABOUT FLOWER POWER
Turning to one of Christian Dior’s biggest inspirations, the flower, Kim Jones’ Summer 2023 campaign for Dior returns to the original couturier’s place of birth, Granville. Shot by Rafael Pavarotti, models are seen wearing Jones’ leather suits, saddle bag and new ‘Warped Cannage’ sandal, where utilitarian fashion meets nature.

CROCS GOES FULL-ON GORPCORE
Crocs have been the punch line of fashion jokes for many years, but its position in the industry has changed thanks to collaborations with Balenciaga, Post Malone, Palace and many more. This time around, Crocs releases on its own a brand new shoe that will make all the gorpcore-obsessed Arc’teryx windbreaker-wearers stop in their tracks: the All-Terrain Atlas Crocs.

MCDONALD’S TURNS TO CARDI B AND OFFSET FOR COLLAB MEAL
Following the hype of the Travis Scott x McDonald’s collaboration meal, the fast food giant now turns to hip-hop power couple Cardi B and Offset for its latest ‘celebrity meal’ deal. Coming out on Valentine’s Day, the Migos rapper stated “It doesn’t have to be all boujee. Get your date, grab some good food, and have fun, that’s it”.
