After a year filled with global uncertainty and political tensions, the online shopping platform is launching a series of new designers and artists who are all working towards a better future. From eco-conscious furniture to gender-fluid garments, check out APOC STORE’s 20 new, visionary talents below.
ELLA BOUCHT
Finnish-born designer Ella Boucht started their eponymous brand after graduating from Central Saint Martins. Their brand’s ethos is dedicated to re-inventing the marginalized butch identity through style, sensuality and gender expression.
RUBÉN GUTIÉRREZ-MARTIN
Architect and product designer Rubén Gutiérrez-Martin creates raw and edgy designs. A standout is his industrial CO1 side table made out of a circular piece of glass held by a chain-like fixture.
JAWARA ALLEYNE
Jawara Alleyne creates a completely new world for a new man through unorthodox yet effortlessly cool garments, obsolete of traditional gender norms.
PIERRE CASTIGNOLA
Self-proclaimed chair enthusiast, Pierra Castignola creates playful yet well-thought-out furniture out of unconventional materials. This includes his Golf Lamp which features a traffic cone as the lamp shade.
SUNG JU
Using personal experiences as inspiration, Sung Ju designs unique garments that are unconventional and daring, yet maintain an element of practicality.
KRYSTAL PANIAGUA
Puerto-Rican designer Krystal Paniagua turns to her roots to re-imagine knitwear pieces. The distinctive designs mould themselves to any body, forming a relationship between the wearer and designer.
FREDERIK FIALIN
Having had a background in wood and crafts from Denmark, designer Frederik Fialin creates sharp furniture, from steel and aluminium chairs to padauk wood stools.
KRISTIN MALLISON
Brooklyn-based womenswear designer Kristin Mallison creates garments inspired by vintage tapestry as well as delicate floral fabrics. She specializes in corsets, which have been featured in some of fashion’s biggest magazines.
KAREN LEE
Furniture designer Karen Lee uses traditional craft to explore engaging yet unexpected shapes, redefining the relationship between the object and its domestic surroundings.
ALEX MULLINS
Alex Mullins is a menswear designer who specializes in deconstruction, patchwork and unconventional shapes while incorporating a mix of vibrant colours.
DURAN LANTINK
Eco-conscious designer Duran Lantink creates garments out of repurposed deadstock such as his trench camouflage coat made out of several old items. His creations have been seen on the likes of Billie Eilish, Janelle Monáe and Paris Hilton.
ALEX ZETA
Artist and furniture designer Alex Zeta is known for his edgy and imposing style. He crafts intricate objects from plywood stools to clay candle holders, all bound to catch one’s attention.
KAROLINE VITTO
Karoline Vitto is a Brazilian designer who is dedicated to accentuating the body through her figure-hugging cut-out garments.
KARINA SHARIF
Karina Sharif is known for her avant-garde sculptural designs which not only uplift but create a space for the Black womxn community.
ARCHIVED PROTOTYPES
This jewellery brand, directed by Romanian jewellery designer Mara Grigoriu and Japanese fashion designer Yusuke Hotchi, focuses on futuristic, tech-inspired gold and silver pieces that are 3D printed in Japan and handcrafted in Europe.
GAUNTLETT CHENG
Created by duo Esther Gauntlett and Jenny Cheng, this womenswear brand creates subtle yet elevated feminine pieces including slip dresses and Lycra tops.
BRADLEY L BOWERS
Bradley L Bowers is a sculptural artist best recognized by his handmade statement lanterns featuring eye-catching folds and pleats.
FIOR DI LATTE
Fior Di Latte creates distinguishable handbags with intricate stitching patterns, producing a ripple effect.
CAROLINE DAVID
Inspired by harmony, love and symbiosis, artist Caroline David designs ethereal objects reflecting on the coexistence of humans and and all non-human species.
