Marc Jacobs is bringing Big Apple glamour to Selfridges

Marc Jacobs has taken over the second floor of Selfridges in London, transforming the space into a light-hearted take on classical architecture. Basically, it's the Natural History Museum meets fashion, where Kiki Boots and Tote Bags take over plinths, and statues smile back at you as you browse the rails.

The installation marks the first time Marc Jacobs' clobber is back on the rails of the legendary department store with its Fall/Winter 2024 collection, which fuses the anti-establishment style tropes of '80s punk with bougie uptown glamour. This is seen across zebra sequin mini dressers, studded denim, and new products like The Jean and The Shirt, nodding to the "Marchives," with pieces like the fuzzy zebra-print coat worn by Cardi B (Gabbriette, Kai Cenat and Alex Consani also feature in the campaign).

Beyond clothing, the ancient architecture houses Marc Jacobs' classic bags, including the Tote Bag, Sack Bag and a brand-new Dual Bag, an elevated debut essential first seen on the Fall/Winter 2023 runway. If you're wondering how this family of bags work together, here's the rundown. The Tote Bag is the structured, prim and proper carrier of just about anything. It's neat, organised, and Google Calendar is its Bible. The Sack Bag cares way less than the Tote, it's a sack, but a chic sack, and it comes in a proper nice Zebra colourway. Meanwhile, the Dual Bag is sleek. It's in bed by 10 pm and is literally never hungover.

There's more, too. On September 6, the space will launch a brand new collab to celebrate Marc Jacobs' 40th anniversary, building on link-ups with Nigo, Cactus Plant Flea Market, and Anna Sui, who have reinterpreted brand staples to mark the occasion.
