Liam Gallagher lives forever, and his brother Noel Gallagher is a bit of a nostalgia lover too — that’s why the Mancunian duo has announced that they will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Oasis‘ 1998 album, The Masterplan.
Oasis’ The Masterplan lives up to its name as one of the band’s best albums, despite the fact it reached No. 2 in the UK charts — falling short of previous efforts that hit No. 1. It comprises B-sides from the Gallagher brothers’ first three albums (notably “Definitely Maybe,” “What’s The Story Morning Glory?” and “Be Here Now”), as well as songs such as “Half the World Away.”

Now, Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher are reissuing the album with re-mastered audio quality, making it perfect for contemporary audiophile set-ups. It’s set to release in peak ’90s formats, ranging from CD and cassette tape to vinyl, with the latter coming in multiple rare editions based around different colours or themes.
It goes without saying that the drop is perfectly timed. Not only is the album turning 25, but vinyls continue to outsell CDs year-on-year. The rise came from many of us spending more time indoors during the COVID crisis, which allowed us to connect with music and use it as a form of escapism. As such, our vinyl collections have been rapidly growing, and now there’s one more to add to the rack.
The remastered 25th anniversary edition of Oasis The Masterplan is set to drop on November 3 at a variety of vinyl stockists worldwide, or it can be pre-ordered here.
