The white T-shirt, a pair of Levi’s, Calvin Klein briefs, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE – these aren’t just wardrobe staples, these are icons of dressing. Now, HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a “DECADE” capsule collection and “DECADE SWEATER,” offering an ode to itself and the elevation of everyday essentials we’ve grown to know and love.
What makes ISSEY MIYAKE’s namesake brands so special is their broad ability to craft clothes that eschew trends. In doing so, the brands become trendsetters of their own ilk. HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE easily swaps out those aforementioned essentials for something far more unique in the new “DECADE” drop, delivering its take on a white tee, its version of an everyday pair of trousers, and much more.
Why is it so important? Well, per the brand, “Over the past 10 years, the brand has developed and conveyed an aesthetic that is universal, like garments cherished throughout changing seasons, with qualities to be worn for a lifetime.” And now this will continue for another decade to come.

In the capsule, we find a T-shirt, jacket and trouser available in a variety of colours ranging from black and white to more playful examples in yellow, blue, purple, green, and more.
The “DECADE SWEATER” comes in monochromatic white or monochromatic black, and also features the brand’s logo on it – a rarity in the hyper-minimal world that is HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE.
To mark the occasion, the brand tapped the New-York based photographer Henry Leutwyler to create a series of images that capture the essence and craft of the brand’s output. For example, we find one image spotlighting objects such as a pin, a measuring tape, fabric swatches, and various cutting tools, which are all used to make the signature pleating effect.
Take a look at HOMME PLISSÉ ISSEY MIYAKE’s “DECADE” drop here. The collection will be available to shop in-store at 33 Brook Street on November 11.
