Still riding the high from winning this year’s LVMH Prize for Young Designers, Ellen Hodakova Larsson hit up Paris today to host her brand HODAKOVA’s hotly anticipated SS25 show as part of Paris Fashion Week.
Just over a month ago, Hodakova Larsson was awarded one of LVMH’s most prestigious awards, outperforming over 2,500 other emerging designers and brands to take home the same prize that Luca Magliano, Steven Stokes Daley, Nensi Dojaka, Colm Dillane, Priya Ahluwalia, and plenty more have previously won.
This season brings HODAKOVA’s first show since they won the LVMH Prize and as a result its been highly anticipated. Made entirely from recycled and repurposed materials, HODAKOVA’s SS25 collection was its first step towards becoming the first fully sustainable luxury brand by using only existing pieces to create its designs.
As a result, the collection featured some wild looks with dresses made entirely out of belts, waistbands, and buttons, tops and skirts made out of boots, and the one look even made out of a painting (picture frame intact). HODAKOVA spins traditional garments on their head, turning them upside down, inside out, and transforming them into completely new looks.
With an LVMH Prize under her belt (or we guess you could say belts), HODAKOVA is continuing on its goal of becoming the first ever fully sustainable luxury brand and we can’t wait to see what it brings next.
