Big shoutout to all the dads out there as today is Father’s Day. While some of our dads clearly prefer comfort over style, others know what they’re doing. In honour of them, we are taking a look at some of our favourite iconic celeb dads redefining what dadcore can look like.

You already know who we’re starting with. We can’t talk about cool dads without mentioning A$AP Rocky. A style icon way before he became a father, Rocky not only manifested the birth of his son Rza, but also the mother to his child Rihanna in his 2013 Fashion Killa, which RiRi starred in, where he rapped about having babies that would be “flyer than their parents”. Considering the fits Rza has been pulling out lately, and with another child on the way, that lyric literally predicted the future.

Next up we’ve got artist Olaolu Slawn with his son Beau who made his catwalk debut with his father for Mowalola before the age of 1 for FW23 – who can say they’ve done that? Pretty iconic, in our opinion. Not only does Beau have modelling under his belt thanks to his dad but now even has a cafe in his name, Beau Beaus Café. Slawn is really pulling through for his kid, father of the year for real.

One name we won’t be keeping out of our mouth is Will Smith. When it comes to iconic dads, Will Smith is definitely up there, father to both Willow and Jaden Smith, setting the bar up high for talented families. From filming a heart-wrenching film with his baby boy, to embarrassing his kids daily on social media, Will Smith proves that no matter how famous you are, dads will be dads.

Just like Will Smith, Lionel Richie is not only an icon himself, but father to two icons as well – Sofia and Nicole Richie. He once admitted in an interview that his children’s mission is to scare him to death, as overthinking and over-worrying parents always do, but that his job is to embarrass them as much as possible – classic dad moment. 

There are young dads and then there are dads who renew their fatherhood regardless of their age, just like Mick Jagger. The Rolling Stones icon is father to 8 kids, including Burberry model Georgia May Jagger. While the life of a rockstar can be turbulent, travelling all around the world and performing later hours, Jagger always brings them along backstage, or at least now only his youngest one, Deveraux, who isn’t just quite busy yet with a modelling or TV producing career.

There are plenty of more dads out there that we could have given a shout out to but at the end of the day, it’s your dad who needs a shout out from you. So get off your phone and go wish him a Happy Father’s Day.
