FENDI's 100th anniversary FW25 show was a movie

Last night, Silvia Venturini Fendi - the fifth generation designer behind FENDI's creative direction rn, who’s own grandparents founded the house in 1925 - celebrated 100 years of FENDI dominating the fashion game with a FW25 show for the history books.

Hosted at the Spazio FENDI in Milan, the brand’s headquarters that’s been re-decorated and re-opened just in time for its 100th anniversary, the show space has doubled in size since FENDI’s last show, and was transformed into a theatrical take on FENDI’s historic salons, where the atelier first started out in Rome.

With swinging double doors, luxurious carpets, and hanging chandeliers, the venue will have brought back memories for the house’s longest clients of shopping at FENDI’s OG stores. That feeling of being let into a world of luxury when you step into a FENDI store was replicated throughout the entire show space.

Then the show started, and this sense of opulence was taken to another level. All of the fashion world’s most coveted models reunited on the runway this season at FENDI, with the likes of Adriana Lima, Amelia Gray, Paloma Elsesser, Alex Consani, Gabbriette, and more all walking for the brand.

And every model was dressed appropriately for a 100th anniversary celebration, as seen in skirt suits adorned with crystal embellishments, lace lingerie-style dresses paired with high boots, and one look crafted from pillowy leather.

As a house that’s always been known for its fine stoles and handbags, these were two main characters of the collection, adding to the self-described “FENDI-ness” of the show. The FENDI shearling stole was seen plenty of times, layered over jewel-tone knits, lingerie dresses, and blouses, expressing the versatility of the iconic piece.

Talking about the huge landmark occasion - an entire century spent occupying our wardrobes (and our wish lists) - Silvia Venturini Fendi said, “FENDI reminds me of the future.” 100 years might be a long time, but for FENDI it’s only the start.
