Who’s up next at Dior Homme?

We all know Jonathan Anderson is heading to Dior Homme (allegedly, despite the rumour mill basically yelling it at this point) but considering that’s not officially confirmed yet, we’ve compiled a list of alternative CDs who we’d love to see give Dior a go. Realistically, they probably won’t, but it’s fun to imagine.

Willy Chavarria

The Chicano designer that everyone was talking about at Paris Fashion Week could be a good pitch for Dior, given his popularity and his recent move into more traditional tailored pieces. On the runway at FW25 – his first show in Paris, a step nearer to the seats of legendary Parisian fashion houses than his native NY – Willy Chavarria did structured jackets and dresses with snatched waists (think: the New Look??) bringing a feminine edge to his politically motivated runway.

Wales Bonner

Wales Bonner famously only does menswear, but at Dior that’s fine because it's only at Dior Homme where a seat is actually open (for now). Known for her immaculate tailoring and her commitment to representing her heritage, blending her experiences growing up in South London with her Jamaican roots on her dad’s side. We’d love to see Bonner bring some cultural references to the runway at Dior, relax some of the tailoring at the house, and bring some GOATed link ups with sports brands — adidas x Dior collab pending.

John Galliano

John Galliano back at Dior would be major - Homme or not - but would he do it? Or, more likely, would they let him? Galliano’s tenure at Dior has to have been the biggest highlight of his career, and he isn’t currently seated at another house since vacating Maison Margiela at the end of last year, so the question isn’t whether Galliano’s take on Dior Homme would be amazing (because we know it would). The question is — after the unceremonious way Galliano was fired from Dior in 2011 for his offensive, antisemitic comments — whether or not Dior would have him back.

Maximilian Davis

Currently at Ferragamo, Maximilian Davis is known for his elegant and elevated approach to womenswear, transforming models into a troupe of ballet dancers at SS25. His silhouettes are modern, his colour palette is bold, and his approach is always innovative - as one of the most rapidly growing young designers in the game right now, he’s definitely real a contender for one of the prestigious fashion houses. At Dior Homme, he could bring sleek new takes on tailoring and modern reinventions of the house’s codes (although, we’d prefer to see him designing womenswear tbh).

Finally, the man who really will (allegedly) be taking on the position: Jonathan Anderson. Whilst nothing’s been confirmed yet, it seems extremely likely that Anderson will be bringing his innovative technical designs and whimsical accessories to Dior Homme’s runway. We’re just holding out for him to step in as Dior’s Womenswear designer too.
