Dolce & Gabbana just presented their new FW25 show titled “Paparazzi” and it really was just that - embodying the chaos of the red carpet. Crews of cameramen stood at either side of the runway entrance, loudly shouting and clicking their flashes at the cool-demeanour models as they walked down the runway in their opulent D&G. From effortless, double waistband trousers to boldly chunky eyewear, the standouts in the collection were the jackets, no doubt. Let’s get into our favourites from this season.
First things fur

The show opener was a statement in itself. Dolce & Gabbana have always been known for their furs and the first look really cemented it, really showing us how you can dress down fur with a pair of jeans and a sweater. Plus, it’s the dramatic length, the ultra-wide lapels and the oversized fit - what’s not to love?
Cheetah for days

Another coat worthy of this list is the all-over cheetah print number that really carries on over from previous seasons’ love for animal print. If you’re not gonna make a statement through texture, you might as well make one through patterns and this is just an embodiment of that. Plus, it’s cheetah print, you can’t really go wrong.
Velvet dreams

It’s not easy to make a velvet suit look good because there’s a fine line between sleazy sex appeal and getting drafted for the NBA but Dolce & Gabbana really hit the former. It’s perfectly tailored (obviously) with a show-stopping leather trim that runs through the outer edge and pockets of the jacket. Not to mention the deep brown colour that’s suave at its finest.
A sleeveless moment

There’s gonna be a lot of mentions of fur and you can’t blame us, it just looks cold. This time, however, it’s this sleeveless fur jacket that’s almost like a gilet that needs its own moment. The highlight of the piece is definitely the wide collar that gives the jacket so much more dimension and with the silky brown fur, it’s a winner.
Doubling down on the sleeve chop

In case one sleeveless moment wasn’t enough, we got blessed with another one (which isn’t easy to do, btw) but this time in a biker leather jacket construction. The standout detail has got to be the contrasting white fur trim that peaks through the arm holes and the collar and, paired with the cropped fit, it’s a proper modern take on that aviator style.
Sequin shines bright

Being such a feminine texture to implement, putting it on the most masculine piece of clothing - the blazer - really gives it a satisfying balance. With broad, structured shoulders that exude power and a top button that gives the jacket some asymmetry, it’s one perfect juxtaposition over another.
A leather jacket made softer

With already buttery soft leather on the blouson-style jacket, adding (yet again) a wide, furry collar just makes it that much softer. With the fur being a matching black too and slim, flattery sleeves, it’s a quietly bold statement on an otherwise classic and essential outerwear piece.
The “groutfit” takes over

It’s been doing the rounds on TikTok and for good reason; it’s simple and elevated in an understated manner. The hairy grey texture adds another element of opulence along with the double-breasted closure that makes it that much more dramatic and luxurious.
Brooches are back

The second half of the show saw the runway become a corridor to a Great Gatsby ball and the lavishness of the occasion was cemented with the gaudy brooches on a flowy wool coat. The glimmer of the brooch was accentuated by the silk trims and buttons, giving it a sleek look.
Brooches as buttons

There’s no better attire for a ball than a suit but Dolce & Gabbana refused to not make a statement so they gave us a stand-collar blazer that replaced regular buttons with the luxurious brooches that we’ve been seeing all across the second part of the show. It’s such an elevated touch and something we’d really love to see more of.
