Stone Island is continuing its exploration of denim for Fall/Winter 2026-27, unveiling the latest collection from its revived DENIM RESEARCH project.
Returning for another season, the line sees the Italian label apply its longstanding focus on fabric development and garment treatments to denim, introducing new washes, finishes and silhouettes across jackets, trousers and shirting.
Four washes underpin the collection, with medium and light blue joined by grey and black denim. From there, Stone Island experiments with the surfaces of the garments through several different processes, including Laser Pigment, Corroded Reflective and Hand Sprayed Reflective treatments.
The latter sees reflective material applied in a deliberately irregular way, meaning differences can appear between individual garments. Laser technology is also used to artificially alter the appearance of denim, creating faded and worn finishes across selected pieces.
New additions include fatigue shirts, while classic trucker jackets return alongside shirts produced using brushed indigo chambray.
Stone Island has recruited Skepta and Stephen Graham to front the latest DENIM RESEARCH offering as part of its ongoing “Community as a Form of Research” campaign.
Skepta wears a 13-ounce denim jacket that has been garment-dyed, laminated with reflective film and finished with a hand-sprayed treatment. The design also incorporates a removable RDS-certified down vest attached using Stone Island's Dutch rope system.
Graham appears in 13.5-ounce indigo denim trousers, which have been treated with lasers to alter the surface of the twill and create a dusty, aged appearance.
The latest release continues Stone Island's push to establish DENIM RESEARCH as an experimental extension of its mainline collections, translating the technical treatments and material development associated with the brand into a denim-focused wardrobe.
Stone Island's DENIM RESEARCH Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection is available now through the brand's stores and online.
