We hit up Chanel Beauty’s new pop-up in Covent Garden, London, where the brand has transformed the piazza into a skate park to celebrate its Rouge Coco lipsticks: the Rouge Coco, Rouge Coco Baume, Rouge Coco Shine, and Rouge Coco Flash. Linking up with Sky Brown, a 16-year-old skater who was applying lipstick while demonstrating her skating skills on a custom Chanel ramp outside the brand’s flagship store, one part of a wider “playground”. (“I can easily skate with the Chanel Rouge Coco in my pocket!” she told us.)
The sporty energy of the pop-up was designed to replicate the ease and effortlessness of the collection: a wearable set of balms and lipsticks that—as proven by Sky and the Culted fam who were tasked with applying it sans a mirror, while balancing the Chanel ‘C’ on their heads—can quite literally be applied anywhere.

In a win for Chanel Beauty lovers and skaters alike, the pop up is free and can be attended by anyone from now until March 30th. Entertainment includes daily live performances from professional skateboarders, who will showcase their skills in the Piazza (from 12 pm - 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm - 4 pm, and 5 pm - 6:30 pm each day). Visitors can also book a one-to-one beauty service with a Chanel MUA to create a look inspired by the range. Alternatively, they can attend an immersive make-up masterclass. And the icing on the cake? Booking fees for both services are redeemable against products at the pop-up, and include an elevated goodie bag.
The event we hit up with Sky last week was a lesson in the power of IRL interactive activations in an era when real life experiences are making a comeback, from brick and mortar stores to real life fashion shows (after digital shows were slated as the future post-covid.)
Chanel Beauty’s skater-inspired experience is available to visit from 21st March through 30th March 2025, and is open Monday Saturday: 10 am - 7 pm and Sunday: 12 pm – 6 pm.
