If you’re wealthy you already know this, but in case you’re not, it’s almost Coachella! Kicking off this Friday 11th April, in the Colorado Desert, Coachella 2025 — which spans two weekends every April — is being headlined by Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, and Post Malone.
Originally, Coachella was launched as a kind of eff you to Ticketmaster - the first concert in 1993 was headlined by Pearl Jam which only performed at the Empire Polo Club while boycotting venues controlled by Ticketmaster. The festival was started with an aim of booking underground artists who were not necessarily chart successes, but since then its become a place where emerging musicians and global artists come together across the two weekends.
Some of the most legendary Coachella performances include Kanye West’s in 2011 and 2019, Drake in 2015 with a cameo from Madonna, Beyoncé in 2018, BLACKPINK in 2023, and the moment a Tupac hologram walked on stage in 2012.
As iconic as it is, Coachella has come under fire for being shallow and exclusive, with insanely high ticket prices and equally high costs of food and drinks once you’re inside the venue gaining it a reputation as the festival for the 1%. With exclusive influencer trips showing the extent to which brands and guests splash cash on the festival, it’s had some people feeling uncomfortable in the past.
Even more uncomfortable than that, is the fact that a report in Teen Vogue described "rampant" sexual harassment and assault at the 2018 Coachella festival, with the author of said article claiming she was groped 22 times in 10 hours. After that Goldenvoice which owns Coachella introduced services to put a halt to this, with “safety ambassadors" available on site.
So what’s going down this year at Coachella? The timetable for both weekends which has just dropped reveals the times and stages Coachella’s huge roster of artists will be performing, including Travis Scott’s soon-to-be-legendary 12:00am set on Saturday on the Coachella Stage. See the full timetable below:
If you're hitting up the festival this weekend or next, we'd suggest bringing shade, drinking plenty of water, and not ambushing us with thousands of socials posts. We can only take so much FOMO.
