As the week finally comes to a close, it’s time for another Friday Roundup. This week has offered us many collections and collaborations, notably from QASIMI and Canada Goose. Elsewhere, Ellesse is throwing a padel-themed party to celebrate its new campaign during Paris Fashion Week. In all the chaos that is brought along with Milan Fashion Week, you may have missed some of these exciting new bits. You’re in luck, though, as we have compiled a list for our Friday Roundup for you to stay in the loop.
WE TEAM UP WITH ELLESSE FOR THEIR SS23 PADEL-THEMED POP-UP
We’re partnering up with Ellesse to celebrate their “Visionaries” campaign, hitting stores next Monday, by kicking off Paris Fashion Week with an immersive Community Club pop-up event. Daring attendees to #BeBold, the day kicks off with a brand showcase to view Ellesse’s SS23 collection ahead of its release, before climaxing in an exclusive event, hosted in Le Marais for the brand’s Community Club members to attend. With the space decked out to look like an IRL padel court and live performances from not one but five world-wide DJs, the event is set to start PWF off with a bang.

DREAM DAILY MAKES SCHOOL LOOK FUN
Daily Paper and record label Dreamville have teamed up together to release a collaborative capsule collection titled “Dream Daily”. Inspired by academia as well as Malian mosques, the yearbook-style campaign encourages students to achieve their dreams. The 7 piece collection offers a double logo varsity jacket, hoodie, sweater, polo dress and more, and is now available online and in Daily Paper stores.

CANADA GOOSE IS HELPING SAVE THE POLAR BEARS
In effort to support Polar Bears International, a longtime partner of the clothing brand, Canada Goose has enlisted Italian artist Paolo Pivi for its latest capsule collection. Together, the three are raising awareness for the polar bears and the threats they face daily. The collection, which will drop February 27, features an array of colourful polar bear-decorated hoodies, fleece jackets, shorts and bucket hats as well as a polar bear-printed puffer jacket and scarf. In addition to the collection, Pivi has created feathered bear sculptures in matching colours to the collection.

BEATS UNVEILS NEW COLOURWAYS FOR ITS FITNESS EARBUDS
The Beats Fit Pro have quickly become Beats By Dre‘s best selling earbuds of last year, only a year after its initial release. Due to its incredible success, Beats are launching three new colourways for the sports-adept earpieces: Coral Pink, Volt Yellow and Tidal Blue. The new campaign, titled “Lock In. Work Out,” features the sports accessory in action as seen on the singer and actress Chlöe Bailey and tennis player Frances Tiafoe, demonstrating its practical fit and sleek design. The Beats Fit Pro are now available for purchase in Apple stores and online.

VANS TAPS CIVILIST FOR A COLLABORATION
Revisiting the classic Skate Half Cab, Vans and Civilist join forces to remodel the shoe inspired by the sombre Berlin winter nights. When the sky turns dark blue and the only light comes from street lamps, there will always be a pair of shoes to be spotted hanging from the train cables, which has become the concept behind the new campaign. The shoe itself, offered in an all-black colourway and features a jacquard print, hike-inspired dark blue laces and the lettering ‘C B’ on the upper, will be available from February 25.

THE V&A IS SET TO HONOUR DAVID BOWIE
With over 80,000 items acquired from the late artist, the Victoria & Albert Museum is set to open its exhibition honouring David Bowie. From letters, lyrics and photographs to musical instruments, awards and clothing, the exhibition will retrace Bowie’s life from his career beginnings in the 60s till his death in 2016. The exhibition will be held at the V&A’s new East London outpost opening next year, while the archive itself should be open by 2025.

A24 IS HOLDING AN AUCTION FOR THE TRANS COMMUNITY, LOW-WAGE WORKERS AND THE ASIAN COMMUNITY
The film production company is auctioning 43 props from the Oscar-nominated movie Everything Everywhere All At Once, including the infamous hotdog fingers and costume worn by Michelle Yeoh, the Elvis ensemble and the Auditor of the Month butt-plug shaped trophy. The auction will be held separately by three non-profit organisations: the Laundry Workers Center, the Transgender Law Center and the Asian Mental Health Project.

QASIMI GOES NOMADIC FOR FW23
Always one to uplift culture, QASIMI continues on its nomadic quest, this time around with a collaboration with Dubai-based textiles artist Hadeyeh Badri. Creating five tapestries for the new collection, the prints can be seen on a poplin shirt as well as on a statement coat. The collection also features a mosaic pattern, seen on a sleeveless vest and on collard pieces. With a strong emphasis on graphics and tailoring, QASIMI’s FW23 collection was a timeless ode to the nomadic artist.

BOTTEGA VENETA IS CREEPING ITS WAY BACK ONLINE
Ever since Daniel Lee erased all online traces of Bottega Veneta back in 2021, the brand has been subject to much fascination in terms of its communication and marketing tactics. Now, with a switch up in creative direction with Matthieu Blazy’s recent appointment, the Italian luxury brand has resurfaced online on Weibo, the Chinese social media platform, where the brand released a teaser for its upcoming collection. Bottega Veneta’s social media reappearance seems to be taking one step at a time, but perhaps we will see an Instagram or TikTok resurgence within the next couple of months.

LOUIS VUITTON COULD BE IN LEGAL TROUBLE
After releasing a handbag ad campaign featuring Léa Seydoux, the French luxury brand has received a cease-and-desist order from the Joan Mitchell Foundation. This order comes after a series of back-and-forth communications between Louis Vuitton and the late artist’s foundation in which LV asked for permission to use Mitchell’s artwork but was denied by the foundation. While LV has not commented on the matter, the JM Foundation asserts that three of Mitchell’s artworks were used without permission in the campaign and will take further legal action if necessary.

LOEWE HAS A NEW BAG
Making its runway debut during the SS23 collection, the Paseo bag is Loewe’s latest must-have accessory. Made out of calfskin, the Paseo bag is made out of a unique elliptical shape featuring two pleats, knotted leather handles and a gold Loewe logo on its front. The bag will be available in an array of colours, including burgundy, light mauve and khaki as well as being found in an XL or small size.
