It’s CULTED with your 60-second NEWS BLAST.
While we were all expecting the long-awaited Dior and Jordan collab, instead, the brand has announced an entirely different Streetwear collab, with the retired designer Shawn Stussy!
Stussy is back for possibly his last fashion gig and says he couldn’t imagine a better comeback than a Dior collaboration.
In his recent interview with WWD he said:
“If I’m going to come out for a last hurrah, why not Dior? That’s the way I look at it. It’s the very top of the top. I have nothing but respect.”
The upcoming collection will feature artistic black and white imagery with some pieces requiring nearly 2,600 hours of beading, while the rest of the collection includes marble-like patterns.
Kim Jones also speaks of his admiration for Stussy, saying “for me to work with someone like Shawn is a real honour” –
“I used to wear [stussy] head-to-toe all the time in my teens”
Just like me.
It’s clear that Kim Jones is revamping the brand, adapting it to the luxury streetwear demand – and we’re here for it.
But, were you guys expecting a collab with Stussy?
