It’s ‘that’ time between Christmas and New Year, otherwise known as ‘Twixmas’. Most of us however, just know it as the period where time stands still. Well, don’t get too relaxed – there’s still plenty going on in the world to give you a reason to get out of bed (or at least, read about whilst lying in bed).
From Dickies domination to Lunar New Year lowdowns, stick with us for your Friday round up of everything you need to know before we head into 2023.
DICKIES, THE LUXURY MASTERMIND
Dickies are slowly but surely solidifying their place in the world of luxury. After a non-stop year of mega collaborations (including Our Legacy, Supreme and Gucci to name a few) the longstanding label is moving away from workwear warrior territory and into the high end space, following a collaboration with Japanese luxury experts Mastermind.
NEEDLES X REEBOK BRINGS BACK THE BEATNIK
Since the resurgence of popularity surrounding the Reebok Beatnik, NEEDLES is giving the world what it wants. Following a NEEDLES X BEAMS collaboration back in 2018 that brought the cult shoe back onto the scene, the label has been pretty busy. Now, Beatnik birth-givers Reebok and NEEDLES are back with a chunky alternative to the kicks.
COACHELLA ‘23 IS LOOKING PRETTY WILD
Following rumours fuel from gossip page Deux Moi, Coachella line-up whispers have been swirling. Now, headliners such as Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Travis Scott and Bad Bunny are being tipped to headline the desert festival.
MAHARISHI MERCY: LUNAR NEW YEAR EDITION
It may be the end of 2022 already, but the Year of the Rabbit collaborations are not slowing down any time soon. In celebration of the luckiest of the twelve animals (said to represent mercy, elegance and beauty) Maharishi have dropped their Lunar New Year capsule, which consists of a range of sweats, tees, jackets and caps.
MARNI FLUFFS IT UP
An ode to the fluff: Marni have joined the ranks of brands celebrating Lunar New Year with their latest collection. The unisex pieces feature a plethora of bunny-adorned artwork by Italian artist Flaminia Veronesi and are presented in a kaleidoscopic range of pastelized shades.
GRETA VS TATE… ROUND 3
Oops, Greta did it again. Following an explosive Twitter argument which featured Greta Thunberg accusing Andrew Tate of ‘overcompensating’ for other areas, the climate activist has returned to throw further shade at Tate after it was revealed that he had been arrested under trafficking charges. “This is what happens when you don’t recycle your pizza boxes” is now officially the best clap back of 2022.
YE GOES MIA
In further weird Ye-related news, his former manager has taken to the media to admit that he… can’t find him? Whilst awaiting to be served a $4.5 million lawsuit, rumours are swirling around that Ye has ‘gone missing’, with attempts to contact him by mail and visits proving futile.
