If you’re looking to be seen in Los Angeles, you don’t hit up the club, you don’t attend a store opening, and you don’t call up the paparazzi. You go to Sushi Park, and let them come to you.
There’s a reason that Sushi Park, an unassuming strip mall sushi joint on West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard, has a roster of celebrities pulling up to its doors on the regular. Despite having minimal online presence (no website, no IG, and no TikTok), Sushi Park has attracted the likes of Jay‑Z, Beyoncé, Kendall Jenner, Hailey and Justin Bieber, and more through its doors for years.

Whether you’ve heard of the place for its unmatched omakase or just seen the endless paparazzi pics of celebrities like the Olsen twins, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner, Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift photographed on its iconic balcony, Sushi Park has definitely been on your radar. Founded by Peter Park, a chef who prefers to keep a low profile, the venue charges an average of $400 a head.

The restaurant is nondescript: as one reviewer put it, Sushi Park has “no trendy sushi; no salad; no veggies; no california roll” and “not much as far as an atmosphere.” So, what helped it gain its “IYKYK” reputation? What it lacks in trendiness, it apparently makes up for in the freshest ingredients, insanely talented chefs, and an authentic Japanese menu.

It’s this next level quality that resulted in Sushi Park getting its reputation as the place to be seen. In 2022, the fashion world even took note of Sushi Park’s iconic rep when Saint Laurent tapped the restaurant for a weeklong pop-up in Paris. Bottega Veneta also used Sushi Park as the location for its Resort 2024 paparazzi-inspired campaign starring Kendall Jenner.

Sushi Park has become such a known spot to be papped that celebrities will hit it up specifically to be seen. That’s why it’s interesting that Kendall Jenner and Mary-Kate Olsen attended the joint together this week. What might look like your average girls night out, if it were anywhere else, has people speculating it’s a tease for an upcoming partnership, simply because it was at Sushi Park.
