For the third update in their ‘Retreat to Basecamp’ series, Canada Goose is transporting us to the flora and fauna filled Azore Islands in Portugal. Inviting photographer and actor Cole Sprouse to document the raw beauty of the Portuguese islands first-hand, Canada Goose’s campaign imagery is a breathtaking depiction of exactly what’s waiting for you out there this summer: lush green foliage, stunning views, and a much needed breath of fresh air. Continuously capturing the joy and thrill of being amongst nature, Canada Goose is undoubtedly a brand that knows how to traverse the outdoors. Keep reading as we dive into the main elements that make Canada Goose equipped for getting back to nature this summer.

A COMMUNITY CENTRED COLLECTION

Canada Goose is a brand consistently led and inspired by its own community. Designing with the needs and wants of the explorer in mind, the brand is constantly considering how to make traversing the outdoors more accessible and more enjoyable, even in the face of the elements. Canada Goose’s SS23 campaign is driven by the spirit of community; featuring essentials for every climate, Canada Goose listens to what their community requires, and delivers. Penny Brook, the Chief Marketing and Experience Manager at Canada Goose, said of the brand that “we strive to bring meaningful stories to life and share them with our community”. The brand even offers fans the opportunity to join its community by signing up to Basecamp, for exclusive first access to drops and unique experiences.

OUTERWEAR FOR EVERY ELEMENT

Whilst every summer the dream of venturing outdoors in a t-shirt resurfaces, the weather is unpredictable and – especially in the UK – can go from being your best friend to your worst enemy in minutes.  This is why Canada Goose’s outerwear collection is designed for braving the wind, sun, rain, and everything in between. With each item produced from AcclimaLuxe – a fabric which is not only water-repellant, wind-resistant, and durable, but also has a luxurious texture that hides wrinkles – the brand’s jackets are lightweight, packable, and easy to quickly throw on at the first sight of cloud. The SS23 collection includes the Sinclair Wind Jacket, a cropped jacket which comes with venting for breathability; The Lundell Wind Jacket, with adjustable cinching and a two-way zipper; and The Faber Wind Bomber, in the iconic silhouette and with a knit framed hem for extra warmth.

FOOTWEAR YOU CAN RELY ON

Whether you’re scaling rocky terrains, wading through marshes, or rediscovering the city, one thing you really can’t go without is a reliable pair of shoes. This is why Canada Goose’s footwear collection for SS23 is designed to feature something for every climate. As a brand well-versed in designing for every aspect of the outdoors, Canada Goose understands that one size does not fit all; thus, it features footwear tailored to an array of different needs. From the Journey Boot, inspired by traditional hiker footwear and ideal for long exhibitions across muddy fields, to the Crofton Puffer Boot, a cold-weather shoe designed for weightless warmth, the brand’s SS23 range holds up against any element.

ON TOP OF LIGHTWEIGHT LAYERING

Throwing on a jacket and a pair of boots hardly seems like enough layers to combat the ever-changing temperatures of the great outdoors, thus Canada Goose’s SS23 collection also features items to layer on top of the bare essentials for added protection. The Faber Wind Hoody is a warm yet breathable under-layer which adds an extra layer of comfort under the water-resistant outer shell of your jacket, and can be accessorised with an array of headwear, from the Horizon Reversible Bucket Hat and the Tonal Cap, each offering protection from both the sun and rain. And for when the weather eventually rises to a warmer temperature, new Canada Goose’s collection of apparel is ideal for layering beneath, featuring t-shirts and shorts in a selection of white, black, and navy hues now available in store.

ALL FOR A COLDER EARTH AND WARMER PEOPLE

As a brand so centred in nature, one of the main priorities of Canada Goose is protecting the environments we seek to escape to. This is why the brand created HUMANATURE, a purpose platform which sets out to promote sustainability and values-based initiatives. Working towards lowering the temperature of the planet through its Sustainable Impact Strategy, Canada Goose is loyal to the habitats it encourages its wearers to interact with, promoting not only a love for nature but the much needed protection of it. This ethos is reflected in the brand’s SS23 campaign’s minimal environmental impact, achieved by supporting the ecosystems and local communities of the Azores Islands in Portugal, where the campaign is set.
