Remember that show? It was CELINE’s takeover of creative director Hedi Slimane’s favourite Paris club to hang out at when he was younger, Le Palace, with his proto-punk aesthetic. Well if you forgot, there’s now a whole video for you to dive back into it.
A big and lightbulb-lit CELINE hung sign, black & white scenes of a band’s live performance and a whole lot of unseen angles honing in on the collection’s details, the video is accompanied by an extended version of Girl by Suicide. A rediscovery of youth culture in the 2000s, Hedi Slimane’s Winter 2023 collection for CELINE gave us a new-age rockstar club look, the uniform for the “I’m with the band” groupie that gets into all the exclusive clubs and underground gigs.
While we get to reminisce on the past collection, CELINE is already thinking about the next one. The brand has announced its Spring 2024 show will be held on July 2. While we don’t know any details, we can expect Slimane to give us more of his rockstar aesthetic with tight trousers and some hefty sunglasses.
