You can now step into the world of Bottega Veneta … for free

Bottega Veneta has launched its fourth limited-edition fanzine, offering fans a look at its Summer 2024 collection designed by Matthieu Blazy and delving into its world of creativity, and guess what – it’s free.

The Italian House’s latest offering spans four volumes and celebrates psychical and imaginative journeys. It combines photography by Alec Soth, behind-the-scenes images, sketches, stickers, and a travel notebook to transport readers to the campaign shoot in Tokyo and allow them to document their travels.

Of course, as with anything Bottega Veneta, its latest fanzine looks great. It is enclosed in a printed slipcase featuring the same illustrated map that featured on the House’s Summer 2024 show flooring. The spirit of adventure is continued as we are invited to revisit Soth’s Playground campaign shot across Tokyo, where structures in the shape of animals, rocks and mushrooms provided the perfect backdrop for its playful campaign.

These images aligned with Soth’s “on the road” style of photography, which pays close attention to structure in parallel to the human-made beauty of Bottega Veneta’s designs. Soth described the intersection of these two worlds under the creative direction of Blazy. “One is profoundly physical – a world of craftsmanship that engages all the senses – and the other is the stuff of dreams. My guiding approach to the campaign was playfulness. The playgrounds felt like a metaphor for Matthieu’s imagination. I wanted to bring the same spirit to my pictures.”

Summer 24 is Bottega Veneta’s fourth fanzine, and for the first time, it is available in bookshops and Bottega Venetta stores worldwide. From March 29 to April 14, the brand will host an Alec Soth exhibition in Tokyo, featuring images from the Summer 24 campaign alongside other images shot throughout his career.

Matthieu Blazy described Summer 24 as a “ journey that is both free and hopeful. A connection to who you once were, who you would like to be and where you want to go. The fanzine allows any reader, anywhere, to join that journey, and to imagine and record their own escapes and adventures – whether in the world, or their creativity.”
