Speculations of Nike’s latest collaboration with luxury jewellery brand Tiffany & Co quickly spread on the internet after leaked images of the shoe surfaced. Now, the collaboration has been set in stone via a post shared on Instagram.
While the two opted out of sharing images of the actual shoe, the so-called “legendary pair” is presented inside simple yet striking packaging: a Tiffany blue shoebox with a classic white Swoosh on the centre top.
The images of the shoe which have been circulating feature an all black suede show with a Tiffany blue Swoosh, a black midsole and the golden Tiffany logo on the tongue. Whether or not that is the final design of the sneaker that will be sold and whether there will be more colour ways remains unknown.
Nike is no stranger to collaborations within the realm of fashion as well as tapping unexpected brands for collaborations such as the ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s for its SB Chunky Dunky and its longtime partnership with Apple that started in 2006 with the Nike + iPod Sport Kit. Through these innovative brand fellowships, Nike has managed to expand its customer base, reaching new audiences. So it comes as no surprise that Nike would partner with the luxury jewellery brand for yet another highly anticipated collaboration.
Tiffany has managed to squeeze itself into the sneakerhead community, most notably with the success of its recent 2021 collaboration with Supreme, which sold out in literal seconds. This is not the first time though that Tiffany has collaborated with Nike, their first joint stint dating back to 2005. If the “Diamond” Dunk can tell us anything about this new shoe is that it will be a roaring success. But until then, we’ve got to wait for the likely Spring 2023 launch.
