1/OFF Paris launched its first brand campaign today in the form of a fashion film, titled ‘Into The Unknown’. Directed by artist Tim Wes and captured by Photographer Boris Lutters, the film is a one minute exploration of movement, music and light. The brand was founded in 2019 by Renée van Wijngaarden with upcycling as its main priority, placing a focus on eternal and circular fashion. For the debut collection, materials are repurposed and elevated through unique designs to make contemporary pieces.
A standout piece from the collection is a collaboration between Chanel and Levi’s®. Named the ‘Love Child’, the deconstructed jacket is stitched with denim inserts and is adorned with gold button detailing. The juxtaposition of the piece is a perfect blend of Chanel and Levi’s® signature designs, providing a middle-ground between high-fashion and streetwear. Available in red, nude and peach colourways, the jacket embodies the transition from old to new.
The film is a visual journey ‘Into The Unknown’, exploring how society questions archaic, traditional norms and the evolution of a new beginning. 1/OFF aims to inspire fashion fanatics to embrace the unpredictable and have an open-minded approach to the new, transitioning world we find ourselves in. Wes explains, “Transition is a process that is accompanied with fluctuating emotions that are not always easy to control. As we create space by releasing what is no longer serving us, we will experience new energy and ideas”.
The ‘Love Child’ jacket has already sold out but exclusive drops are being launched on Selfridges both later today and tomorrow morning. Prices range from £200 up to £3000 / US$280 to $4175.
