Just after presenting his first collection as the new creative director of Diesel, Glenn Martens unveils Y/Project’s latest collection for SS22 which includes a collaboration with the sportswear giant FILA.
The collaboration celebrates FILA’s 110th anniversary, bringing together two different realms of streetwear. Speaking on the latest collab, Martens said, “I see this collaboration, really, as a marriage of Y/Project’s experimental spirit and Fila’s innovative drive grounded in sportswear. The process was as easy as it was fun, and it allowed me to openly explore a streetwear direction that felt new. There is a fresh, happy vibe to the endeavour that I think is right for this moment”.
From outerwear to footwear, the collaboration saw reworked FILA pieces, including t-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants and caps. We also saw a chunky-slip on sneaker with the FILA “F” logo covering the tongue, as well as a basketball shoe adorned with both FILA and Y/Project’s logos.
In signature Martens fashion, the collection saw an array of deconstructed-reconstructed pieces such as double denim look and a reworked asymmetric-buttoned shirt. This season’s highlight includes cross-braided neckline knit sweaters, including his beige opening look. As always, the designer creates technical design pieces that are unique to the wearer, depending on how the item is worn exactly.

Y/Project’s SS22 combines technical tailoring with storytelling, and an unexpected collaboration bound to open up the brand to a wider region of sportswear. Check out the full show below.
