Dame Vivienne Westwood has passed away aged 81.
The designer, activist and fashion visionary’s eponymous house released a statement via their Twitter account, stating that she died “peacefully and surrounded by her family” in Clapham South London. Their statement was finished with the poignant note: “The world needs people like Vivienne to make a change for the better.”
Her husband and long time design partner Andreas Kronthaler commented: “I will continue with Vivienne in my heart.”
