We knew something was in the works for these two, after a slew of paparazzi shots emerged last summer detailing them filming something in The Bronx. Whether that was chilling in fur on the balconies of NYC, or unwittingly papped running from a trailer to the shoot site, the glimpses we got all-but guaranteed the project to be a stylish affair – and D.M.B delivered.
Dropping last week, the new track and video from A$AP Rocky has already amassed nearly 11 million views, with fans in the comments citing the aesthetics as a major element of the success of the overall drop – including of course, Rihanna’s cameos. Combining a soft-focus with visual narratives and the backdrop of New York City, it’s not much of a surprise that the video is receiving love, especially with the inclusion of all the fashion looks in it too.
Blending archival looks from luxury fashion houses such as Dior and Versace with others which are Phresh Out The Runway, it was hard to choose a standout look from the abundance on show. However, we’ll start with perhaps the most striking: the neon fur looks. With Rocky donning a green trapper hat and Rih in a pink fur coat, these two fits were pulled from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2022 collection, and were designed by Virgil. Grounding the looks in NYC street style was A$AP’s Timbs, as well as their location in the video as on the iconic fire escapes of New York dwellings.

Another major fashion moment from both parties occurred when Rihanna picked Rocky up from ‘jail’. She was dressed in a multi-tonal brown ensemble, which included a long shearling coat from Loewe’s AW21 collection, snakeskin corset and a pair of high-waisted, fold-over Jacquemus trousers, also from the brand’s AW21 drop. Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky was seen championing British designer Stefan Cooke in a textured black denim two piece. The jacket and jeans bore the designer’s ‘rope’ design motif, which the musician accessorised with black boots and a gold belt. Pretty fly for getting bailed out.

Elsewhere, Rocky was seen progressing the ‘blokecore’ movement that has been sweeping the internet as of late. Whilst we can make out, it’s essentially just a term that Americans seem to be using when donning football tops, videos detailing and styling the microtrend have garnered hundreds of thousands of views on TikTok alone. In D.M.B, Rocky wears a vintage Eric Cantona shirt from the 90s, which has been embellished with sequins and gems.

In flashes of sunnier scenes, we see Rihanna take to the Versace archives, wearing a vintage zebra-print coat and matching bucket hat. The look is completed with a crochet top from The Attico, who also supplied the musician and beauty mogul’s sequin maternity look.

Forever repping his creative collective, A$AP also made sure to include an AWGE look in the video. Wearing the brand’s ‘Holy Cross’ blue tracksuit, the musician accessorised with gold jewellery and his staple white tank top to round the look out.

Rounding off events is the wedding scene – which sees the two seemingly tie the knot with spell out grillz which read ‘WILL YOU MARRY ME/ I DO’. Whilst the designers of each look haven’t yet been confirmed, we’re pretty sure Rocky is in a CELINE tux and vintage Versace shades, while Riri’s red ensemble (veil and all) screams Margiela.
