adidas is marking Lionel Messi’s final appearance for Argentina with a special-edition collection built around the country’s most famous number 10.
The new Argentina Messi Special Edition Collection is led by the jersey the national team is set to wear for Messi’s farewell international on October 6. adidas has developed a full match-ready kit that folds references to Messi’s career into Argentina’s traditional sky blue and white colours.
The biggest change comes through the Sun of May, Argentina’s national symbol, which has been enlarged and spread across the front and back of the shirt. Gold detailing then runs through the crest, numbering and trim, bringing a celebratory edge to a kit designed to close out one of international football’s defining careers.
In place of the standard adidas Performance logo, the shirt carries his personal mark, underlining a partnership that has followed him through much of his career.
The number 10 appears within a laurel motif alongside the Sol de Mayo, turning the kit into a direct reference to the player who has become inseparable from Argentinian football.
adidas has used its latest CLIMACOOL+ construction, combining stretch materials, mapped ventilation and mesh zones intended to improve airflow and moisture management during matches.
The jersey forms part of a wider capsule that includes pre-match pieces, lifestyle clothing, shorts and socks, all using variations on the Sun of May and Argentina flag graphics.
