JW Anderson and UGG have joined forces for the first time, unveiling a new collection that puts a playful spin on two of the Californian brand's most recognisable silhouettes. Bringing together Jonathan Anderson's experimental approach to design and UGG's classic comfort, the collaboration introduces two new styles inspired by the traditional penny loafer.
At the centre of the collection are the UGG x JW Anderson Loafer and Loafer Boot, which reinterpret the Tasman slipper and Classic Boot. Both designs feature exaggerated rounded toes, contrasting box-stitching and loafer-inspired detailing, while retaining the soft materials and cushioned construction that make UGG the classic go-to comfort brand it is.
Available in Chestnut, Khaki and Orange, the collection offers a more unconventional take on everyday footwear, with Anderson incorporating design elements that have become synonymous with his namesake label.
To introduce the collaboration, the two brands have enlisted British musician and producer Dev Hynes, better known as Blood Orange, to front the accompanying campaign. Styled by Anderson himself, the imagery captures Hynes in a domestic setting, highlighting the relationship between personal style, comfort and everyday routines.
The partnership also continues UGG's growing presence within luxury fashion, having recently collaborated with the likes of Willy Chavarria, Palace and sacai.
The JW Anderson x UGG launches globally on October 15 through both brands' websites and selected retailers.
