Jack Harlow puts his Louisville roots into New Balance’s T500 “Olmsted”

Jack Harlow is continuing his relationship with New Balance with a new take on the T500, introducing the “Olmsted” ahead of his return to his hometown of Louisville.

Inspired by Harlow’s love of walking and spending time outdoors, the collaboration takes its name from Frederick Law Olmsted, the influential landscape architect behind Louisville’s renowned park system. The concept is personal to Harlow, who grew up spending time in the city’s Cherokee Park, making the location a fitting backdrop for the sneaker’s launch.

The T500 itself dates back to 1982, when it was introduced as a versatile tennis shoe designed for on-court performance. For the “Olmsted”, its sporting origins have been reworked into a more relaxed everyday silhouette, retaining the clean, understated construction that has helped the T500 become a New Balance staple.

As a longtime New Balance wearer, the Harlow has developed a well-documented enthusiasm for sneakers and has previously worked with the brand across several silhouettes, including the 550, 1906R and 442. His collaborations have often reflected his personal interests and hometown connections, making the “Olmsted” another natural extension of that relationship.

The new release will arrive alongside a special hometown activation at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park on August 28, running from 3–7pm local time. The launch takes place ahead of Harlow’s two Louisville shows, adding another local connection to a project built around the city and the places that have shaped him.
