Whether you’re a self-professed sneakerhead or just like a bit of comfort from your shoes, 2024 is a belter for trainers. Canadian master of minimalism, Justin Saunders of JJJJound, has teamed up adidas for a sought-after take on the Samba, the PUMA Mostro is having a colourful moment, there’s another solid Air Jordan 4 release, and Dover Street Market has teamed up with New Balance. If we’ve wet your trainer-loving whistle, keep reading to find out which sneaker releases you need to know about.

JJJJound x adidas Samba

These tasty trainers have been doing the rounds online for a while, and they’re finally releasing this month. The project marks the first collaboration between JJJJound and adidas, emphasising the power of minimalism. Suede overlays merge with a premium leather upper, meeting with a gum rubber outsole to complete the colour pairing. Serrated Three Stripes compliment a classic Samba T-toe design, to finish off this top-notch trainer. These will be released on March 27 at 9:00 am GMT, but be quick, as they’re bound to sell out fast.

PUMA Mostro

PUMA bringing back the Mostro is one of the coolest things to happen in sneakers this year. The Mostro was initially released back in 1999, named after the Italian word for “Monster” thanks to its experimental look, which features a spiky sole and forefoot strap closure. Earlier in the year, we got a Light Grey and Yellow release, and now, we’re getting a lively neon colourway. The Mostro is a cult-loved classic and gripped sneakerheads and fashionistas with its futuristic allure. Now, it’s dropping in an energetic “Pink Delight” and “Ignite Blue” on March 23. The new Mostro colourways will be available to purchase from Kith, Slam Jam, LN-CC, END. Clothing, SSENSE, and WORKSOUT

Air Jordan 4 “Industrial Blue”

When Nike announced the release of the Air Jordan 4 “Industrial Blue,” sneaker aficionados went into a spin as they weighed up whether or not it was a retro release of the legendary “Military Blue” from 1989. But, eagle-eyed trainer fans spotted that it was a slightly different hue more akin to the “Motorsport Blue” release of 2017. Either way, this is another solid Air Jordan 4 release coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the basketball sneaker. These are rumoured to release on May 4.

C.P. Company x ASICS GEL-QUANTUM 360 VIII

For a label like C.P. Company, whose founder Massimo Osti has been hailed as the “Godfather of sportswear,” thanks to his innovative use of technical materials, it makes perfect sense to collaborate with ASICS. The C.P. Company x ASICS Gel Quantum VIII embraces the technology used in the Urban Agility Concept that inspired the iconic Metropolis jacket. Keeping true to this technology, the sneaker is constructed with 5D print details that resemble ergonomic shapes found in nature. Oh, and they look good too. These are available to purchase now.

Trophy Room x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Away”

An Air Jordan 1 collaboration is always a treat, and most recently it has collaborated with Orlando-based sneaker boutique Trophy Room for an original take on the classic sneaker. A classic black Swoosh adorns a leather upper, providing a striking hit of contrast to a classic red, white, and black colourway, in tune with the sneaker’s roots. The Air Jordan 1 Low was released in 1985, and was easier to wear off the court than high-top styles, setting a precedent for basketball sneakers’ off-court fashion status. Unfortunately, these have sold out on general release, but we couldn’t leave them off our list. They are still available to purchase via online marketplaces

Stüssy x Converse Chuck 70 Hi

Stussy and Converse is a match made in footwear heaven, with Chuck Taylor’s subcultural legacy effortlessly complimenting Stüssy’s So-Cal cool. This isn’t these guys’ first rodeo, and for its latest collaboration, they’ve kept things classic, embroidering a custom Stüssy “All-Star” logo onto a classic black chuck. With the first wafts of spring setting in, we can’t wait to wear these just about anywhere this summer. These won’t be available for long, so grab a pair while you can.

New Balance 991v2 Dover Street Market Exclusive

New Balance and Dover Street Market have got together ahead of the London Marathon for a collaborative take on the 991v2 Made in UK. Whether you’re running the race and need a comfy trainer to put on afterwards or just want to look good while watching it, these bad boys update the classic sneaker with premium suede, mesh and a synthetic upper that is outfitted in tonal black with reflective details. A distinctive ABZORB SBS pod adorns the side of the sole unit in “Mango” and “Bleached Lime” hues for a subtle contrast. These are available now via Dover Street Market and will see a later release in New Balance’s Oxford Street store.
