Martine Rose’s surprise SS26 show took place off-calendar in West London today. Pre-show, Rose hosted a drinks reception in a room filled with stalls by upcoming creatives featuring zines, vintage clothes, and one-off knitwear.
Guests were eventually led into a smoke-filled room lined with white silk, where we were discouraged from taking content (it was giving The Row). But we can tell you that Martine delivered.
The collection itself was inspired by retro erotica and the streets of London. It featured plaids, high-waisted denim, and oversized tailoring, while models sported frizzy hair with fringes or poodle hair.
Martine’s staple sportswear also featured this time, in jerseys cinched at the waist or double-layer track bottoms and in the Nike Shox MR4 mule, which came in new colourways.
Although the show was under the radar, the fashion set all rocked up, as did a bunch of little kids. It was giving community fr.
