After showing an impressive FW25 Men’s show in Milan a month ago, Dolce & Gabbana tapped into quite a different agenda for its Women’s show with the title “Cool Girls.” Ditching the paparazzi theme from last month, they came correct with the most cool girl concept there is rn: an indie sleaze aprés-ski moment.
A running affair for the FW25 season, the opener for D&G wasn’t much different with a fur hit to start things off on an olive green parka paired with a laced bralette and knee-high harness boots. Just as you thought the models would walk off the frame, you’d see them make their way outside where they’d be met by a fur-wearing DJ spinning some head-bumping techno where passersby could take a peak at the collection from the street.

With the olive green and fur overload that started off the collection, there were some obvious nods to militarywear that were supported by hefty-looking black leather boots. These rugged motifs were juxtaposed with the more feminine lace undergarments, pushing this sexy, effortless notion that makes the models look like they stepped out of their bed and threw on any warm jacket just to go out and party. This aprés-ski theme was further supported by the oversized, cuffed beanie that dominated the collection, making every look really seem like they were out in the freezing-cold, snowy mountains.
To switch things up, Dolce & Gabbana introduced a flood of denim and cheetah print that we expected from the teasers of the show. Coming in the form of fringed coats, ripped jeans and a combined, Frankenstein jacket that had a denim body and cheetah print arms, it really embodies this “Cool Girl” theme that has come to define the collection.

Just like the previous Men’s show, the show ended with a section of eveningwear that was filled with embellishments, giving off a gaudy, flapper girl-espque vibe that represents the modern “Cool Girl” - one that looks to the Great Gatsby 20s for some party inspo. With a blocky silhouette in a lot of the dresses, these girls don’t need to flaunt their curves to prove their sexual appeal, it comes from within.
With the show ending with all the models from the final walkthrough ending up outside for a lunchtime outdoor rave, all the cool girls have come together to get their boogie on. It’s a weekend at the alps for the girls that listen to indie sleaze techno and leave on half their skiwear from earlier and we’re defo here for it.
