Paris is packed to the brim – Chanel, Rick Owens, LOEWE, Coperni and Issey Miyake are a mere handful of those worth watching. London is loaded with some of the most exciting designers around, from Chet Lo to Ahluwalia and KNWLS. Milan is pretty manic too, with some anticipated creative director debuts for Gucci and Tom Ford.
But that’s not it. As with every season, it all starts over in the Big Apple. New York Fashion Week has a lot to get hyped about, from Peter Do’s debut at Helmut Lang to Ralph Lauren’s hotly anticipated return to the NYFW schedule. London – a mecca for budding designers – is joined by the likes of household giants including Daniel Lee’s Burberry, JW Anderson and the always-exciting roster from Fashion East. Lookout for the blokette-approved Ancuta Sarca and menswear favourite Stefan Cooke, too.
In Milan, we’ll get our first glimpse of Gucci’s latest chapter with Sabato de Sarno at the helm, who took over from the lauded Alessandro Michele, and another show-stopper from Diesel, which is of course open to the public per Glenn Martens’ traditions. Over in the French capital, Kiko Kostadinov has been added to the Women’s schedule this Paris Fashion Week, so keep your eyes peeled for Laura and Deanna Fanning’s “It-girl” approved designs.
As with any schedule announcement, it’s just as important to note who’s not on the list. Former Céline designer Phoebe Philo was slated to return to fashion with her namesake label; however, she remains off the schedule.
