It’s the return of street style Rihanna. All whilst running a skincare empire (as well as debating whether or not to release new music), the self-proclaimed Bad Gal is bringing back her daily offerings of versatile looks, coveted by all. She’s reminding us all of the one thing that sealed her as the fashion icon we’ve come to love. Her impeccable dress sense, regardless of the occasion. And the streets are here for it.
Rih stays on top of what’s new and brands you wish you knew. You’ll agree with us when we say that once you see a piece on Rih, it’s due to be a desirable staple for many years to come. From practically unobtainable vintage grails to experimental avant garde fits, here’s a rundown of our favourite Rihanna ensembles she’s recently worn to restaurants, malls and the grocery store.
ISLAND CASUAL FOR THE GROCERY RUN
The Bajan trendsetter stayed true to her roots at her local organic produce market. Rih sported an oversized, relaxed fit Hawaiian shirt (psychedelic palm trees and all) from Celine x Tyson Reeder “Autobahn” shirt, open just enough to see a pink Love Stories Intimates bralette peeking through. She paired it with a Random Identities stonewashed denim skirt, ERL boxers and her go-to Amina Muaddi “Henson” heels. What better way for her to top it all off than with some vintage Versace checkered sunglasses.
NEW HARLEM RENAISSANCE TO THE BOOKSTORE
It’s always showtime when RiRi’s around. She bought all the 70s New York-style pomp and pageantry on her way to grab some new reads. She seamlessly mixed and matched a foxy Benny and Dallo faux fur hat, with Tom Ford’s SS ‘99 Gucci runway jeans’ which are feathered at the hem and have a beaded waistline & pockets. Not forgetting her beaded Fendi “FF” baguette bag to match.
As of this week, Riri’s feathered “New Hippy” Gucci jeans are going for £11,000/US$15,452 (approx.) on 1stdibs.com – fashion is pain!
FIRE & DESIRE FOR A SPOT OF DINING AT GIORGIO BALDI
She had the streets blazing in a Mowalola petrol print tank top, fittingly covering an uncannily similar Todd Oldham fiery dress from 1994. She draped it all with a feline-print Dries Van Noten runway fur coat circa 2016. Her R13 baseball cap and 1980s Fendi handbag were the perfect accessories for the look.
AND AGAIN, THIS TIME IN AVIATION CHIC
Rihanna paid homage to pilots all over wearing the new must-have Marni green & white striped cardigan, green Brain Dead “Dreams” graphic sweatpants and an R13 brown shearling jacket. The co-ord didn’t stop there: she sported her green Saigon Goyard handbag and white Amina Muaddi “Ursina” pumps.
BROWN SUGAR FOR HER MOTHERS BIRTHDAY
Trust Ms Fenty to keep it sleek and sexy in all-brown. It was business on top and party below, as she wore a YSL double breasted leather jacket, barely covering her Supriya Lele sheer see-through slacks, Bottega Veneta studded gloves, Attico heels… and of course another vintage Fendi tote!
AN ON-THE-GO SPORTY SPICE NUMBER
She recently gave the perfect errand day look in a traditional Adidas collegiate tracksuit, Prada x Adidas bowling bag, a vintage Esso trucker hat and her very own Fenty T-heel sandals.
OLD SCHOOL LEATHER ATTITUDE TO PROTEST WITH THE PEOPLE
Fully stealth & incognito, Rihanna came dripped out to protest with the people at the #StopAsianHate March in NYC. She wore a vintage varsity-slash-biker-style Avirex jacket, leather pants and black and white Jordan 1’s.
A SURVIVOR SOLDIER LOOKING FOR THE NICE GUY RESTAURANT IN LA
Rest assured. Rihanna is just like us: she knows how to rock the same thing twice. Only, it’s never the same look nor the same vibe. For her army cadet fit, she brought back the R13 shearling jacket, this time pairing it with a Wales Bonner lion crest t-shirt, bandana-ed up with a 70’s Hermes green scarf and an embroidered applique skirt. Oh, and army print “Ursina” heels and her Fendi tote.
FINALLY, HER TRUSTED JEWELS ARE ALWAYS ON DECK
Our Diamond superstar tends to stay adorned with her trusted gold “Santos de Cartier” watch, Sue Gragg gold and diamond rings and a vintage David Yurman necklace.
If it wasn’t clear already, it’s now clear that Rihanna still runs these streets.
