Launched back in June, Prospect100’s design competition in partnership with ViacombCBS and Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has come to a close and a winner has finally been chosen. Taking home the US$7,000 / £5,000 cash prize as well as seeing her design become official TMNT merch is illustrator Lily Stock.
Speaking on her recent win, Lily said “This was my first big project out of Falmouth University and this is such an amazing way to start off my career as a recent graduate! Having my work being well received by Kevin Eastman, one of the most influential comic book artists of all time, has given me so much confidence for my own future in the industry”.
Judged by an accredited roster of creatives, Kevin Eastman, Colm Dillan, KidSuper, Matt Gondek and many more were all tasked with picking the winner. The task wasn’t easy as the competition received entries from 33 different countries, which they had to narrow down to 25 submissions. Those lucky 25 were then announced to the public, which they in turned chose their top 5 favourite entries. The final winner was chosen by none other than the co-creator of TMNT Kevin Eastman and ViacombCBS representatives.
“We were blown away by the creativity in the submissions we received and want to congratulate Lily on her winning designs”, stated Veronica Hart, Executive Vice President at ViacomCBS. “Lily Stock’s reimagination of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was striking and unique, and we can’t wait to move forward with the merchandise collaboration and showcase these new designs for fans to enjoy”.
Though not everyone gets to be a winner, Prospect100 honours the top 100 finalists by inviting them to a private creative masterclass with Kevin Eastman and renowned artist Matt Taylor.
Make sure to keep an eye out for Lily’s official TMNT design on t-shirts, hoodies, phone cases and more on Amazon in August.
