Palace has joined forces with KAPPA for another collaboration, this time partnering with the BWT Alpine F1 Team to bring a racing-meets-skating spin to classic sporting and streetwear items.
The collection comprises a pit jacket, rain jacket, body warmers, pit shorts, tracksuits and tech polos, which appear in two colourways: “Black/Blue” with a pink Tri-Ferg logo, or “Beige/Stone” with a contrasting blue Tri-Ferg. Completing the collection are two exclusive 9FIFTY curved brim driver caps in matching colourways courtesy of New Era, the official headwear licence partner of the BWT Alpine F1 Team.
Also releasing alongside the co-branded streetwear offering is a one-off, Palace-designed A523 car, which has been made for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The official racing suits worn by BWT Alpine F1 drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, and the BWT Team at the event, will all feature Palace and KAPPA branding.
Speaking ahead of the collaboration, Palace described Las Vegas as one of the “most mental and beautiful places on earth.” A video campaign sees Palace pro Charlie Birch assume the role of “The Sinful Stig” as he almost misses his alarm, showers (helmet still on), and heads to his car, but not before placing a winning bet in the downstairs casino. Palace riders Charlie Young, Danny Brady, Kanin Garner, and Jahmir Brown make an appearance too.
Palace is no stranger to backing disciplines outside of skateboarding, partnering with cycling-focused Rapha for two collaborations, with the first collaborative jersey being worn in the 2020 Giro d’Italia.
David Gendry, VP of Alpine Sponsoring, Partnerships and Communications, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “The creative process and exchanges these past few months have been incredible, and it is with great pride that we unveil a unique livery for the A523, inspired by the desert that surrounds Las Vegas. The team will also proudly wear the Palace KAPPA for Alpine team kit this weekend.”
If you’re in Sin City this weekend, the apparel collection will be available at an exclusive pop-up in Las Vegas at the Venetian Shop, launching on Thursday, November 16, and globally in Palace stores and online from November 17.
