Sneaker brand On are bringing the art of movement to Art Basel with its latest installation. From the 16th to 19th June, visitors will be able to check out Walks of Life – the brand’s initiative to inspire movement. Taking inspiration from its signature style, the Cloudaway, the piece consists of a metal structure that replicates On’s logo, surrounded by mist to make you feel as if you’re surrounded by clouds.
However, On’s involvement also sees more of an experience at Art Basel – as it will be conducting a series of 90-minute guided walks around the exhibits. As part of this, interested visitors can try out On’s Cloudaway urban shoe, all whilst exploring selected highlights of Art Basel’s Parcours Sector, curated by Samuel Leuenberger. Education and immersion.

On the walk (pun intended), experts will provide special insights and background information on the carefully chosen artworks, while trying out the brand’s dedicated Cloud tech in the shoe. Conducted twice daily, they begin at the On Structure, before meandering through Basel’s historic district – with no chance of blisters. Hopefully.
What’s more, if you can’t be there in person, On’s also launching a digital platform – its Sound Walks. Based here, you’ll find three audio tracks which explore Basel, Miami and Hong Kong sonically and historically – and are intended to be experienced whilst walking, only working if the listener is in motion.
